Adventure 2009
Revelstoke, Canada
In February 2009 I went to Canada again. This time it was the old railway city Revelstoke that is calling my hungry powder heart. Revelstoke is blessed with a microclimate that produces some of the greatest and most stable snowfall in North America (12-18 meters per year). Revelstoke is different from the other heliski destinations I have visited, as its actually a town (population 8.500). Revelstoke offers Heli skiiing, Cat skiing and a high class ski resort with the biggest vertical drop of any ski resort in North America (5860 feet).
We got lucky....with the first snowfall in 4 weeks we got a week of fresh powder, three days with snow and three days with sun... greatest skitrip ever !!
Nepal 2008
2008 offered another great adventure. The destination was
Nepal. Yep thats right... We went skiing in the Annapurna region - lots
of great adventure and fun. We flew cph - London - Delhi - Katmandu - pokhara. Flying Virgin Upperclass from London to Delhi was great (thanks Richard B for a unique Concept) At the destination we flew in an old russian army helicopter, piloted by a, well yes, russian crew...the smell of vodka was very real.

Tyrkey 2007The location is the
Kaçkar range, North
East Turkey, close to the Black Sea. They have chosen an awesome
stretch, some 100km long by 35 km wide. The highest
summit
is 3’900m with the average vertical drop between
700m and 1’200m. The range is reputed for its good
snow and the stability of the snow cover due to the proximity
of the ocean. More info here
